Promise..for the savvy bride Voted Best in Bethesda!

All of us at Promise are so thrilled!

Every year, Bethesda Magazine conducts a survey to determine the best in Bethesda and the Bethesda metro area across several categories - from restaurants to hair salons to yoga studios. For 2009, Promise was voted the Best Bridal Salon, and we could not be any prouder!

After opening in my mom's (and business partner's) home in November 2003 (our original space was delayed in its construction and we couldn't wait any longer!), then moving to our first space on Wisconsin Avenue, and finally moving again to our perfect location on St. Elmo Avenue, it has been an incredible experience. When Promise first opened, it was the first new bridal boutique to open in the area in some time. Our goal was to provide Washington, DC area brides with customer service that was not only on point, but also personal. We were determined to provide gowns from designers not represented anywhere else in the Washington, DC area to ladies looking for something special and unique. Finally, Promise was opened with the intention of creating an environmentally-conscious bridal salon. We strive to select designers that keep their production local, and work hard to keep our business practices as waste free and as green as possible.

Promise still holds to these tenets today. We continue to focus on offering exceptional customer service, truly special gowns, and forward-thinking business practices. I am proud to say that is what sets Promise apart!

It has been such a privilege and honor to help all our brides-to-be find their dream gowns (and/or bridesmaid dresses or accessories) and stick with them through their whole wedding planning process. After five years of being in business (I can't believe we are entering our sixth year!), it still means so much to help newly engaged women find the gown they will wear on one of the most memorable days of their lives.

Thanks so much for your support, and we wish you a happy 2009!

- Jessica
